Light switch crackling when turned on

Anonymous user - 18/44/2026 - 2:44 PM

When I flick one of the light switches in my hallway, it sometimes makes a faint crackling sound. The light still works but I'm worried it might be unsafe. What could be causing this?

Crackling usually means the contacts inside the switch are worn or loose. It's a common issue and the safest fix is to replace the switch. It's a quick job and prevents overheating or arcing.
